You are confused with so many wines to choose and you don’t know how to choose proper wine for your next date or dinner with friends or family.
A few tips that could help you out find proper wine:
1/ Do not rush: when you enter a liquor store or you shop online, you might be lazy and select the first bottle you like (according to packaging or the first bottle you seem to like (Grosset Wines, Innocent Bystander Wines or Villa Maria Wines). However, it makes more sense to talk with the sales representative or read reviews about the wine. It makes more sense to get recommendations from experts. They know their stuff better than you do!
2/ Check ratings: Parker and his friends can help you out find the right wine for you. Parker is probably overrated to be fair (quality of your wine depending on Parker’s grade) but it’s always another element to take into account.
3/ Follow your insctinct: If you like the story, the vineyard, the mix and you think this could be a good wine for your next dinner, go for it! You will have no regrets. Life is not about regrest anyway…
4/ Be careful with vintages: Vintages are clearly important. 2005 was an awesome vintage but for some specific wines it was not so great.
5/ Old wines can be great but you need to be an expert: There are people who drink 1905 wines but you have to be very careful with these wines. You can have the best experience or the worst experience ever. It’s quitte ou double!
Enjoy!
