Port Wine

Port wine (http://www.portwine2u.com/) is a Portuguese wine coming from the Douro Valley (from Oporto to the Spanish border) in the northern part of Portugal. It is also known as Vinho do Porto (in Portugal), Oporto, Porto, and often simply Port (more in the US). There are several types of varieties of Port Wine : dry, semi-dry and white. Port wine started in the 17th century when there was a war between the English and the French. Then, the English could not drink French wine. Consequently, the English looked for a new location to get a good wine. They found the Duoro Valley to be a great location for a great and innovative wine. Port wine can be used for different types of food : for example watermelon with port wine is a blast. Imagine being in the south of Portugal close to the beach, nice weather, nice spot and you are there enjoying a fresh watermelon with port wine, mmmmmmm Port wine can only be produced from the Douro Region in Portugal. To produce this type of wine, you need to fortify it with the addition of a good Brandy. To preserve this wine, port wine should be stored in a cool and dark location (light can damage the taste).

Wine Cellar To Store The Wine Collection

Some people love wine so deeply that they start their own wine collection. They will need to have a great place to store it and keep it safe. For this reason, many people build their own wine cellar to keep their wine in a safe and dry place for when they are going to need a great vintage. The first thing is to figure out where you are going to build your new wine cellar. The best temperature for a wine cellar is between fifty-five and sixty degrees. With wine storage, it is important to have a steady temperature. You do not want an area where the temperature goes up and down all the time. This is not good for the wine. It may even cause the wine to spoil.
